1. Event Cancellations & Refunds
Tixli provides the platform for ticket distribution and payment processing; however, the contract for the event is strictly between the Event Host and the Attendee.
Host Responsibility
In the event of a cancellation, postponement, or significant change to an event, all responsibility falls to the event host. This includes the communication of changes and the processing of refunds from the funds already released to the host.
2. Fraudulent Activity & Security
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding fraudulent event listings, ticket scalping, or payment manipulation.
Enforcement Actions
If fraudulent activity is suspected, Tixli will immediately:
- Issue a formal Cease and Desist order to the account holder.
- Freeze all pending payouts and access to the platform.
- Provide full investigation support to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and relevant financial authorities.
3. Platform Fees
By using Tixli, hosts and attendees agree to the following non-refundable fee structure applied to paid events (100% free events incur no fees):
- Booking Fee: A flat R4.50 fee applies per paid ticket. By default, this is added to the attendee's cart at checkout. However, hosts may opt to absorb this fee, in which case it is deducted directly from the host's gross revenue before percentage calculations.
- Commission Fee: 3.9% of the total ticket face value per ticket sold, deducted from the host's revenue to cover secure card processing and platform operations.
- Transfer Fee: 1.8% flat fee calculated on the remaining balance when transferring funds from the Tixli wallet to a personal or business bank account.
4. Payout Schedule
To assist with event logistics, funds are released to verified hosts on the following schedule:
- Partial Payout: Released 7 days prior to the event start date.
- Final Payout: Remaining balance released at the official start time of the event.
5. Liability & Indemnity
Tixli acts solely as an independent ticketing software provider. By purchasing a ticket or attending an event listed on our platform, attendees agree to the following:
I acknowledge that I attend this event at my own risk. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tixli, its owners, operators, and affiliates from any responsibility or liability regarding loss of property, damage, personal injury, or death that may occur before, during, or after the event. All physical event operations, security, and safety protocols are the sole legal responsibility of the Event Organizer.
6. Data Collection & Privacy
When purchasing tickets, attendees may be required to answer custom questions provided by the Event Host (e.g., dietary requirements, clothing sizes, or affiliations).
- For Attendees: This information is securely shared with the Event Host strictly for logistical and operational purposes related to that specific event.
- For Hosts: Hosts agree to handle all collected attendee data responsibly and in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Hosts may not sell, distribute, or misuse attendee contact information or personal data.
